Overview
The Model 4630 is an auto-ranging digital ground tester that performs earth ground resistance and soil resistivity measurements using a 128 Hz square-wave test signal that rejects stray DC, 50/60 Hz and harmonic interference. The kit versions add 150 ft, 300 ft or 500 ft lead sets on spools with T-shaped auxiliary ground electrodes and a tape measure.
A 9.6 V NiMH rechargeable battery pack powers about 4500 fifteen-second tests, and the sealed housing carries an IP65 rating when closed. Response time is 4 to 8 seconds per stabilized reading on the backlit 200-count display.
