Overview
The Ametek MG HK-1500/C is a pneumatic, ball-type deadweight tester from the AMETEK HK series, certified for pressures from 10 to 1500 psi (50 to 10,000 kPa) in 1 psi increments. Like every HK tester it works as a primary standard: the applied weight stack acting on a floating ceramic ball and nozzle generates the reference pressure used to calibrate gauges, transmitters, transducers, recorders and controllers.
The tester is self-regulating. A built-in flow regulator keeps the ball and weights floating regardless of supply variations, so accuracy does not depend on the operator and no regulator is needed if the nitrogen or instrument-air supply is within range. Because the test fluid is gas, no hydraulic residue is left in the unit under test. The model code suffix /C indicates that the instrument is delivered with test data; standard delivery includes the tester base with case, weight set, manual and NIST traceable certification.
