Overview

The Ametek MG PKII series is a pneumatic deadweight tester family that produces pressure by applying a certified weight set over the area of a ceramic ball floating in a stainless steel nozzle. The PK2-654WC-SS/C configuration is certified for 4 to 654 inH2O in 1 inH2O increments, with weight carrier and ball outputs of 4 and 10 inH2O. Because the floating-ball principle is self-regulating, the generated pressure is independent of operator technique, which makes the instrument an economical primary standard for shop and lab use.

Standard stainless steel weights are calibrated to international standard gravity, and accuracy is NIST traceable, with the PKII line offered at ±0.05% of indicated reading as standard and tighter ±0.025% or ±0.015% certifications available on request. The tester connects via 1/4-inch female NPT and runs from nitrogen or instrument-quality shop air at a minimum supply of 30 psi or 150% of the desired output. The case houses foam-protective slots for the weights, and it can be operated with the cover open or closed and leveled quickly on its cast base.
