Overview

The 8620 is the 3000 W model of the B&K Precision 8600 Series, which packs the performance of modular system DC electronic loads into a compact benchtop form factor. It tests and evaluates DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers and photovoltaic arrays in constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance and constant power modes, with transient operation up to 25 kHz and adjustable slew rate in CC mode.

Test features include list mode, a short circuit test and a built-in battery test function with voltage level, capacity level and timer stop conditions, plus a CR-LED mode that simulates the loading behavior of typical LEDs. Remote voltage sensing compensates for lead drop, analog current control and monitoring is available, and the 8620 communicates over USB (USBTMC-compliant), RS232 with SCPI protocol and a standard GPIB interface. OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP and local/remote reverse voltage (LRV/RRV) protection guard the instrument, backed by a three-year warranty.
