Overview

The Fluke Calibration 1524-156 is a two-channel handheld reference thermometer readout and data logger sold as the 1524-156 Value Incentive Package (also ordered as 1524-VIP). Using the current-reversal measurement technique found in high-end instruments, it cancels thermal EMFs for precision readings: accuracy reaches ±0.002 °C with precision thermistors, ±0.015 °C with PRTs and ±0.24 °C for J, K, L and M thermocouples, with coverage from -200 °C to 2315 °C depending on sensor. Channel 1 handles 4-wire RTDs, thermistors, thermocouples, resistance and voltage, and channel 2 adds 4-wire RTD, thermistor and resistance measurement.

INFO-CON connectors carry a memory chip that uploads probe calibration data to the readout automatically, and a SMART LEMO adapter in the kit provides plug-and-play coefficients. Beyond spot measurement, the 1524 documents up to 25 readings with statistics and logs up to 15,000 time-and-date-stamped points at intervals from 0.3 seconds (fast mode) to once per hour, graphing trends on the 128 × 64 backlit LCD in real time. Data transfers over RS-232 with the included 9940 I/O ToolKit software.
