Keysight N7974A Advanced Power System

Overview

Built for automated test systems, the N7974A sources and measures simultaneously with two measurement modes: averaged DMM-quality readings and a digitizer mode that captures dynamic current profiles with an 18-bit current digitizer sampling up to 200 kS/s. Seamless ranging moves between two current measurement ranges without discontinuity, tracking loads from microamps to amps, and built-in power, peak power, amp-hour and watt-hour calculations simplify storage and efficiency measurements.

The supply continuously sinks up to 10% of its rated current on its own, or the full rated power indefinitely when paired with an N7909A power dissipator, which suits battery and power-storage cycling work. Output lists step through timed or triggered voltage and current levels, smart triggering adds level and logical trigger expressions with precision delayed outputs, and the optional black box recorder (N7908A / Option BBR) logs power events in non-volatile memory. Multiple APS units parallel up to 10 kW, and the 2 kW models occupy a 2U full-rack footprint.
