Overview
The instrument excites the transformer at a fraction of rated voltage with a null balance bridge, keeping magnetizing current errors low so the voltage ratio closely follows the true turns ratio. An optional auxiliary transformer extends the ratio range to 329.99:1.
Exciting current is read from 0 to 1 A with a divide-by-5 switch for increased resolution, and four decade dials set the ratio. Each phase of a three-phase transformer can be tested by separate connection.
