Overview

The Megger TTRU1-BASIC is a handheld single-phase transformer turns ratiometer for polarity validation and turns ratio tests on distribution, instrument and power transformers. Colour-coded leads, clamps and on-screen vectors that match the transformer nameplate guide the test, and results are saved automatically.

Applications

Turns ratio and polarity testing of distribution transformers, instrument transformers (CTs and PT/VTs) and power transformers, including single-phase, three-phase and instrument transformer testing. The excitation current measurement helps locate problems such as magnetic core defects, shifting windings, turn-to-turn insulation failures or tap changer faults.
