Overview

The Tektronix A621 Current Probe is part of the A600 series of high-value current probes designed to support measurements with TekMeter or oscilloscopes. Its industrial-style clamp-on jaws open wide enough to accommodate conductors up to 54 mm (2.13 in.) in diameter, and the BNC output can be adapted with a shrouded banana plug adapter so the same probe works on digital multimeters as well as scopes. Three switchable sensitivity ranges (1 mV/A, 10 mV/A and 100 mV/A) let the probe cover everything from small leakage currents to very high load currents on a single instrument.

Rated to 2000 A peak and 600 V CAT III on bare conductors, the A621 is safety qualified to UL3111-2-032, CSA1010.2.032, EN61010-2-032 and IEC61010-2-032. Its clamp-on design means measurements can be taken without breaking the circuit, which makes it well suited to motor drive, inverter, power supply and avionics work where high AC currents must be observed quickly and safely.
