AEMC 4630 KIT-500FT Ground Resistance Tester
Overview
The Model 4630 performs 2-point and 3-point fall-of-potential ground resistance measurements, 4-point soil resistivity tests, step voltage tests and touch potential measurements. Auto-ranging selects the optimum measurement range and test current automatically, and a large backlit LCD shows results with LED warnings for high input noise, high auxiliary rod resistance and fault connections. The 128 Hz square-wave test signal and filtering let the instrument reject stray currents and harmonics that would otherwise corrupt readings.
The KIT-500FT configuration (catalog 2135.24) adds the 4-point test kit: two 500 ft color-coded leads on spools, two 100 ft leads, one 30 ft lead, a pair of 5 ft leads, four 14.5 in T-shaped auxiliary electrodes, five spaded lugs, a 100 ft tape measure and a carrying bag. The tester is powered by a 9.6 V NiMH rechargeable pack with a built-in charger that allows testing while recharging, and the rugged dustproof, rainproof case is rated IP65 when closed.
