Overview
The Model 6472 is AEMC's ground resistance tester for lightning protection systems, offering 4-point fall-of-potential measurements from 0.011 Ω to 99.99 kΩ with auto-ranging test voltage of 10, 16, 32 or 60 V at frequencies from 41 to 5078 Hz. Wenner/Schlumberger soil resistivity, 2-clamp ground and DC bond resistance tests round out the measurement set.
The Model 6474 GroundFlex field kit adds impedance analysis from 41 Hz to 5 kHz on transmission towers. Its flexible sensors clamp around tower legs and pierce insulators so the tower leg can be tested while energized, rejecting interference up to 60 V peak. An optically isolated USB link and 512-measurement memory work with AEMC DataView software for reporting.
