Overview
The Amblyonix 3015 Megohmmeter is the 15 kV model in Amblyonix's Series 3000 of portable insulation resistance testers. It is designed for high-voltage substations, power plants and similar sites where large transformers, motors, cables and complete HV systems need insulation characterization. Front panel control ramps the test voltage smoothly from zero to the selected level, and the instrument tolerates electrically noisy environments with interference immunity up to 2 mA, so meaningful readings are still obtained next to energized equipment.
Beyond simple spot checks, the 3015 includes a built-in timer that measures Step Voltage tests, Dielectric Absorption Ratios (DAR), Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Discharge (DD) automatically, which are the standard diagnostic ratios used to assess insulation condition of rotating machines and HV apparatus. The tester is compact and lightweight for its class at about 18 lb, runs from a 120 VAC line connection or a rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack, and ships with a manual, power cord and test resistor.
