Overview
The Ametek Jofra STS100B500AH Reference Probe is part of the AMETEK STS series of Pt100 reference temperature sensors, built by AMETEK Denmark (Jofra) as reference instruments for verifying true temperature in hand-held, liquid-bath and dry-block calibrators. The ordering code decodes as follows: STS100 designates the Pt100 reference probe covering -150 to 650°C, B the 6.35 mm (0.25 in) probe diameter, 500 the 500 mm (19.7 in) straight probe length, A the 0.5 m (1.6 ft) cable with LEMO connectors, and H the ISO 17025 accredited calibration certificate (specified -45 to 650°C).
STS probes are engineered for stability: they undergo long-term burn-in up to 650°C so drift stays low even after sustained high-temperature exposure, and their compact size, fast response and small required immersion depth suit dry-block calibrators where well space is limited. Combined with an AMETEK RTC temperature calibrator, the STS reference sensor forms a system accurate to +/-0.04°C. This performance has made STS sensors the working standard in many national laboratories worldwide, while the direct-readout design also allows use in custody-transfer applications where high accuracy translates directly into money.
