Overview
The Mansfield & Green Type T DM-T-150-1/C from AMETEK is a hydraulic deadweight tester built for laboratory-grade pressure calibration in an industrial environment. As a primary pressure standard, it generates pressure directly from calibrated weights acting on a re-entrant piston/cylinder assembly, covering a dual range of 10 to 1,500 psi and 100 to 15,000 psi (to about 1,000 bar). The -1 suffix specifies ±0.025% of reading accuracy and the /C suffix indicates the unit is supplied with certified data.
The dual-column, dual-piston design carries two pistons — a 0.10 in² piston for the low range with 5 psi increments and a 0.01 in² piston for the high range with 50 psi increments — so operators change range instantly without swapping piston assemblies. A re-entrant piston/cylinder applies test fluid to both inside and outside of the cylinder, reducing leakage and extending float time as pressure rises, while the overhung weight carrier lowers the center of gravity to cut side thrust and friction. Constructed of 300 series stainless steel and Monel, it uses a hand-actuated dual-volume lever pump with distilled water/alcohol mix or oil as the medium, and repeatability is ±0.005% of indicated reading.
