Overview
The AMETEK RK is a pneumatic deadweight tester: a primary pressure standard in which a ceramic ball floats on a film of clean air or nitrogen while stainless steel masses load it to generate pressure. Certified range models run from 1 to 51 psi (RK-50) up to 1 to 2011 kPa (RK-2000N), with pressure range 0.145 to 300 psi (1 to 2000 kPa) overall, so gauges and transmitters can be calibrated against a directly traceable force balance rather than a secondary reference.
Three accuracy grades are available: ±(0.05% of reading) as standard, ±(0.025% of reading) with the -1B suffix, and ±(0.015% of reading) with the -1A suffix, with repeatability ±0.005% of reading. Weights are stainless steel as standard, the ball is ceramic, the connection is 1/8 in female NPT, and standard delivery includes the tester base with case, weight set, manual and NIST-traceable certificate. Water-column models reference 20°C (ISA) or 60°F (AGA) and gravity is set to the international standard 9.80655 m/s² unless local gravity is specified.
