Overview

The 179 is the flagship of the Fluke 170 series of true-RMS handheld multimeters, measuring AC/DC voltage and current, resistance up to 50 MΩ, capacitance, frequency, temperature and diode/continuity functions on a large backlit display.

The pocket-sized 1AC-A1-II VoltAlert senses the electrostatic field produced by AC voltage through insulation without contact, sensing nominally 90 V AC to 1000 V AC from 45 to 405 Hz. It is rated CAT IV 1000 V for added protection.
