Megger 220015 Dielectric Test Set

Overview

Dielectric test sets measure leakage current while applying DC voltage at or above the operating level of the insulation system, helping to determine its ability to withstand overvoltages such as lightning strikes and switching surges. The 220015 is designed for equipment rated 7.5 kV and below, including power cable, switchgear and rotating machinery, and follows IEEE, ICEA, NEMA and ANSI guidelines.

The set is air insulated and uses no oil, making it compact and portable for field work. A zero-start interlock, current guard circuit, output overload relay and input/output circuit breakers protect the operator and the instrument, and a strip chart recorder output is optionally available for hard-copy records.

Features

  • Output 0 to 15 kV DC, continuously variable
  • 5 mA output for 12 minutes; 2 mA continuous (120 VAC input)
  • Leakage current read from 1 to 5000 µA
  • ±2% full-scale accuracy
  • Zero-start safety interlock for high-voltage output
  • Current guard circuit for accurate measurements
  • Fast charging of high-capacitance samples
  • Air-insulated portable design

Applications

  • Acceptance and maintenance testing of motors and generators
  • Power cable and switchgear insulation testing
  • Transformer, insulator and capacitor DC testing
